On Due Dates... |
Writers Reading Policies |
Writing takes time. Writing takes thought. Writing doesn't happen in a vacuum and writer's block is real! However, in a writer's world, due dates are serious, strict and cannot be missed. As we learn about the craft of writing, we will also learn about the importance of adhering to our deadlines.

The Writers Reading is a bi-annual performance showcasing the work that our students created.
The incredible Fall show will take place on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 7pm in LaVilla's Theater. Creative Writing students are required to attend the Writers Reading. Students are expected to remain for the duration of the show whether they are performing or an audience member. This is a formal evening event so students are expected to dress and behave in a manner that represents the high expectations set by the department faculty and the LaVilla community. FYI: Does my parent/guardian have to attend with me? YES. Parents, please do not drop your student off for the performance. We want you to see what we do everyday in school! Furthermore, the faculty is backstage with the performers, so you need to accompany your student if they are an audience member. Auditions are mandatory for advanced students and take place during class. |
